WHO WE ARE
Y.J Family Charitable Foundation (YJFCF) is a non-profit private foundation committed to increasing the number of low-income students who attend and complete college across the state. We believe improving college achievement is central to preserving California’s future, and the Foundation works to provide low-income and historically underrepresented student populations with the college scholarships they need to make that achievement possible.
Eligibility Requirements:
Primarily serve low-income students and/or students who are among the first in their families to attend college.Some of the factors we use to assess financial need include:· Annual household income: College Prep Scholars typically come from households earning less than $20,000 annually for a family of four. All sources of family income are taken into account. Students with divorced or separated parents must report the income of both biological parents. Non-custodial parent information is also taken into consideration when determining long-term economic challenges. Any assets held by the family are taken into consideration, such as cash, investments, home equity, business equity, and rental properties.
Merit – 3.5 GPA or higher∙California residents.
To apply, we require:
· A current high school transcript.
· Any available test scores.
· Information on your family’s financial background
· One letter of recommendation from a high school teacher, submitted to:scholarshiphelp.org@gmail.com
